The End of the 2022 School Year

It is difficult to believe that we are almost at the end of 2022! I would like to extend my appreciation to all our community for your ongoing efforts in supporting our wonderful school throughout the year.

As the year draws to a close, we can take the opportunity to reflect on the many achievements of our students throughout what has probably been the most challenging of years for the education sector, not only in South Australia, but Nationally too. I am exceptionally proud to work alongside such a dedicated team of educators and support staff who have worked tirelessly to provide quality learning opportunities, despite the many obstacles and demands this year has presented.

It is also with a mix of pride and sadness that we say farewell to our graduating Year 6 students as they embark on the next stage of their learning at high school. We thank them and wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about their achievements in 2023 and beyond.

Staff farewells

We sadly say farewell to Lachie and Danielle who will be leaving us at the end of the year. Lachie has secured a position next year in middle school at Aldinga Payinthi College B-12 and Danielle a position in the early years at Clarendon Primary School. Both appointments are well deserved and we will miss having them as part of our team in 2023. We thank them both for all their contributions at Eden Hills Primary School, and wish them the best with their new pathways. We also say thank you and farewell to Jarrad Rogers and Abbey Kelsey-Evans, two of our wonderful SSOs who are leaving us to take on new roles as teachers next year. We thank both of them for their wonderful contributions to Eden Hills Primary School. They will both be missed dearly.

Family farewells

We say farewell and thank you to the families who will be leaving us at the end of the year. We wish you all the very best for the next stage of your learning and thank you for the privilege of educating your children at Eden Hills Primary.

I wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas / Summer break and look forward to seeing you back in 2023 when school returns on Mon 30 January.

Kind regards,
Andrew Dowling

Fun Colour Day

What a great fun filled afternoon, lots of laughter, colour and cheering. It was so good to have parents to share in the occasion.

We raised $189.50 towards WORLD VISION

A HUGE Thank you to the Parents who organised this event

Jane, Sally, Katie, Addey, Jazz & Leanne

The Class who demonstrated the most Respect for the School Environment was Room 4 (Edie’s class). They showed great enthusiasm in making sure Andrew and Kellie were coloured from head to toe!

Resource Centre

All books and readers were due back last Monday and overdue notes have been sent home where needed.

All students who have returned everything get to enter in a mystery gift raffle which will be drawn on the last day of school.

Students participating in the Summer Reading program will bring their books home next week.

Crazy Camel Fundraiser

Last week we sent home the amazing artwork the students designed and had put onto an array of products for families to purchase. They were very colourful and bright.

The Crazy Camel orders raised $2095 towards the new playground equipment.

2022 Graduate Uniform Design

The winning entry for the 2023 Graduate Uniform was designed by Pippa.

Great Work Pippa!

Reports and Classes

The end of year reports and notification of next year’s classes will be sent home on Thursday 15 December. We will have a transition visit to the new classes during that day where the students will get to know their classmates and hopefully their new teacher. We still have a number of classes where a teacher is yet to be placed and that may not be known until the students return in 2023.

Results of the Poll for 2023 Material & Services Charges

After the Governing Council meeting on the 2 November 2022, all our families were invited to vote in an online poll to make the 2023 Materials Services Charge legally recoverable. Thank you to the many families who voted. The result was overwhelmingly (89%) in favour of making our Materials & Services charge of $375 for 2023 fully legally recoverable. Invoices for 2023 will be issued early next year.

Lunch Orders

Reminder: NO Lunch Orders next week, the final week of Term 4

Christmas Giving Tree

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Christmas Giving Tree.

The local Lions Club have collected our donations and

will distribute the goods to families in need in our local community.

Sports Uniforms

Reminder to all students to please return their sport tops to the office. If they do not return their tops, families will be charged for them. (I know that sometimes the players get attached to their number and want to keep their tops for next year but please discourage this).

If coaches haven’t already done so, please return all black folders with registration forms, attendance records and uniform allocations to the office, so that all the information can be archived.

Lost Property

This is the last call of 2022 for lost property to be claimed!

All attempts have been made to reunite labeled/named clothing and food containers with their owners. However there is still a large number of unclaimed items. A big thank you to Martine for all her help with sorting and stacking our lost items. There is a table outside the Office for you to check through the unnamed collection. All items remaining at the end of term will be donated or disposed of.

Early Dismissal

Reminder: The last day of Term 4, Friday 16 December is a 2.10pm Dismissal
